Mr. Girish Shah
There are some who simply instruct and some who truly inspire. The avant-garde vision of SMB to revolutionize healthcare with state-of-the-art technologies and products was put in place by Mr. Girish Shah – The Chief Executive Officer of SMB. He joined the SMB Board in 1985 after completing his graduation in Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineering from All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai Maharashtra.
Mr. Girish Shah played a pivotal role in the Indigenous development of Intrauterine Copper bearing and Copper Alloy Contraceptive Devices in India.
SMB is a pioneer in the manufacturing of Intrauterine Copper bearing and Copper Alloy Contraceptive Devices in Three Sizes in India. Mr. Shah has dedicated more than 37 years to studying and documenting the various aspects of Women’s Reproductive Health Care in the country. Today SMB exports an extensive range of IUDs along with wide range of IUD accessories, all made and manufactured indigenously, shipped to more than 140 countries worldwide with 70 million satisfied users globally.
To ensure timely deliveries and manufacturing safety, Mr. Girish Shah has built two world-class IUD manufacturing facilities in Jogeshwari, Mumbai and Umbergaon, Gujarat both approved by CDSCO India, Medicinal Evaluation Board Europe, ANVISA Brazil, Health Canada, Saudi Arabia FDA, Tanzania FDA, MDSAP, COFEPRIS, European Union, UNFPA and USAID along with product registrations in more than 30 countries.
